Casita Update

Well, here we are almost six months from signing the legal documents to purchase the casita. Since then:

- we still haven't received the title of the property, which we need to put our own electricity meter in, both of which may take months or even longer to happen.

- the electricity was disconnected in February.

- we haven't fixed up the casita to be able to rent it out.

- in April our casita was broken in to, but nothing was stolen.

- as the garden was turning into a jungle the sellers have agreed to maintain the casita and property in exchange for use of it and/or Air BnB for now - we suggested until the end of this year. This is a win-win situation as they stand to earn some money and we don't have to put out anything for now.

- a pickle ball court is being built next door to be opened in July of this year.

- a massive amount of roadwork has been going on since I was last there in February, and the Costanera, the new coastal highway, is being routed behind our properties. Here is a video of the route from SJDS going towards Playa Marsella.

- a large bridge is being built over the crocodile river right by our houses, supposedly now, but likely to be delayed because rainy season is starting.

So much for a quiet peaceful little place! The good news is that is should mean property values will be going up.
